The Cockroach Janta Party began its journey as an online novelty that sparked the interest of millions of Indian netizens and gradually transformed into a youth-driven movement. Abhijeet used satire and sarcasm to comment on India’s social and political state of affairs. His voice quickly gained traction among the general public and became a symbol of resistance for millions of Indians who felt their votes were not being heard. The online campaign began as a humorous initiative but soon gained momentum and evolved into a movement that champions the voices of the people. It has morphed from an idea into a full-fledged network of self-organised activists that advocate for labor reforms and address civic issues in a decentralised manner. Currently, the CJP serves as a decentralized labor union and civic pressure group. Abhijeet has played a crucial role in turning this digital initiative into a real-world movement that empowers people and encourages them to participate actively in society’s development.

Early Life and Education
Abhijeet Dipke was born on September 29, 1995, in Aurangabad, Maharashtra (now known as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar). Growing up, he spent his childhood years in this smaller city, exploring the local culture and adjusting to the lifestyle of an average Indian family. Being born into the Mahar Dalit community meant that Abhijeet has been raised among severe poverty and hardship. His father, Bhagwanrao Dipke, and his mother Anita Dipke, struggled to provide their son with the best possible upbringing. Yet, the financial constraints of a low-income family could not overshadow the Dipkes’ willingness to give Abhijeet a proper education and introduce him to the values of hard work and perseverance.
The family’s humble background and low-income lifestyle became a guiding star for Abhijeet’s aspirations. He realised early in life that in order to secure a dignified occupation and guarantee financial stability in the future he would have to pursue higher education. Specifically, he aimed to graduate from an engineering faculty or, at least, to receive a BSc degree. Yet, the idea of receiving an elite education abroad never came as a choice, since the family lacked the resources for such endeavours. Still, Abhijeet was not deprived of moral support and the opportunity to develop his critical thinking and voice his opinion. The former was encouraged by his parents, who prioritised sending him to school, and his favourite writer, Ambedkar, whose works greatly influenced the young Abhijeet.
In particular, the writings of B.R. Ambedkar on social justice, rights, and democratic freedoms inspired him to develop progressive views on society and its culture. Moreover, Ambedkar’s speeches provided young Abhijeet with the much-needed understanding of the importance of transparency, especially in government and politics. This topic became very close to his heart, and it resonated with him throughout his years of self-development and education. It took root in his mind, and it continues to affect him to this day, regardless of where he is – in Pune or in Boston, studying at the College of Communication at Boston University.
Speaking of studies, it is worth noting that after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Pune University, Abhijeet decided to take his education to the next level. As he began looking for graduate programs that could offer exciting opportunities, his attention was drawn to the field of strategic communications. In particular, he decided to pursue a Master’s program in Public Relations, which he hoped would allow him to acquire new practical knowledge and hone his journalistic skills. Eventually, he managed to find a suitable educational institution offering a comprehensive curriculum and a competitive price for his future endeavours – Boston University.
While being in Boston pursuing his degree was a tremendous experience for Abhijeet, it was also highly challenging. Apart from adapting to a new and busy lifestyle, he had to put a lot of effort into his studies to truly excel in them. Thus, he graduated from the College of Communication in 2025 with a M.S. in Public Relations. His current educational background has allowed him to develop a set of professional competencies that are vital for any successful public figure, including crisis management skills, campaign branding know-how, and a comprehensive understanding of how social media works. The latter, in particular, has become one of his greatest assets, given that it plays such a major role in modern society.
To summarise, Abhijeet Dipke has come a long way since his humble beginnings. From the little village house and the struggles of poverty, he grew up to become a confident and enthusiastic learner who now studies communication in Boston. The change was by no means sudden or immediate – it took Abhijeet years of training and multiple steps toward achieving his goals. Furthermore, the journey was not easy, given the financial constraints of his family and the cultural and physical distance he had to overcome. Nevertheless, he was always supported by his loving parents and their adherence to traditional Indian values. On top of that, the progressive ideas of his childhood hero Ambedkar have resonated strongly with him and have become a constant source of inspiration. Altogether, young Abhijeet has greatly benefited from the diverse experiences that have shaped him as a person, and today, he has the knowledge, skills, values, and worldview that are necessary to lead, teach, and influence people.
Career
Political Communication Strategist (2020–2023)
Dipke was not in politics for a long time and became famous for his behind-the-scenes work. He worked for mainstream media outlets, managing digital media stories for political organisations.
- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP): Joined the media team for AAP’s main social media accounts as an expert in social media campaigning and played an important role in the 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections. Asks to create meme-friendly posts in which complex announcements made for the youth of the country were simplified.
- Delhi Government: Then, he started working for the government, advising the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office and the Delhi Government’s Education Department on social media strategies and helping with school development communications.
Global Public Relations Training (2023–2025)
To pivot his expertise toward broader strategy consulting, he unaffiliated himself from direct party allegiances and enhanced his skills in media execution at international levels.
- Education: He enrolled for an MS in Public Relations at Boston University’s College of Communication, where he specialized in strategic campaign planning, public affairs, and digital media crisis management.
Founder & National Convenor of CJP (2026–Present)
- The Satirical Inception: While winding down his US tenure, Dipke launched the CJP website as a darkly comic riposte to elitist institutions which liken disemployed youth to parasites. The portal went viral, clocking 19 million impressions and 3 million sign ups within a week’s time.
- The Grassroots Pivot: In June 2026, Dipke returns to India to formally institutionalise the CJP as a youth pressure front and digital labor union, forgoing global job opportunities in the process.
- Current Projects: Besides penning books on digital order, Dipke currently helms the #schoolthikkaro campaigns as they go on ground auditing infrastructure in rural Maharashtra and North India.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Movement
In May 2026, Dipke created the CJP as a dark-humor political satire in response to the controversy surrounding the comparison of unemployed Indian youths to “cockroaches and parasites” by the legal system.
- Explosive Growth: The satirical account gained immense popularity, amassing over 2.8 million followers within five days.
- Government Crackdown: Due to the CJP’s disruptive influence, the Indian government has classified Dipke as a national security threat and ordered the removal of CJP’s primary accounts from the social media platform X (Twitter). Dipke strongly condemned the government’s unilateral decision to censor his accounts, calling himself broken-hearted that his accounts had been labeled a hazard to national security.
- Jantar Mantar Protests: Dipke declined the job offers from the United States and returned to India in June 2026 to continue his work in the youths’ political advocacy and non-violent constitutional protests at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. His campaigns focused exclusively on students’ issues and significantly contributed to the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation from his post in the wake of the NEET-UG paper scandal.
